You're going to love this delicious marinade for your steak!
Do you have a favorite marinade for grilled steak?
A few weeks ago I asked my readers on my Walking on Sunshine Facebook Page if they could share a recipe for steak marinade. So many delicious recipes and ideas were shared, that I couldn't make up my mind on which one to choose...so I chose one and then added a few extra ingredients.
The recipe I came up with is a combination from the ones that everyone shared and then I added a few other ingredients that I love.
What I love about this steak marinade is that I reserve a cup of it before adding it to the steak.While the steak is cooking, I'll add the reserve marinade to a small saucepan and let it cook down until it's reduced and thickened. Then you can just drizzle this over the cooked steak and it is a little taste of heaven on top of delicious steak!
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 Tablespoons minced garlic
- 2 Tablespoons honey
- 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 Tablespoon Worchestshire sauce
- 1 can, 6 ounces pineapple juice
- 1/4 cup packed cilantro leaves; chopped
Combine everything into a food processor and process until combined.
I have also combined everything by hand and it worked fine that way.
RESERVE ONE CUP OF MARINADE in a separate container and place in the refrigerator.
Pour the rest on of the marinade on top of your choice of steak that you have placed in a glass or plastic container or a plastic bag. (I love using skirt steak.)
Cover and place the steak in the refrigerator to marinade overnight.
The next day while your steak is on the grill, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan and cook until it has reduced and thickened.
This makes a delicious "sauce" for you to use on top of your cooked steak.
