As most of you know, I have a wonderful job. I work as a home-based transcriber for a company that provides typed transcripts of interviews for television news programs such as Dateline, 60 Minutes, etc. It's very interesting and I am so blessed to be able to incorporate something I learned in high school, typing, into a job to provide extra income for our family without having to leave home! I am here when the kids are sick and home from school or off on summer vacation, as they are now. I know I could make more money working outside of the home, but, this works fine for us. Especially with my back situation lately.
Anyway, last night I had to do a file that was probably one of the strangest ever. It was an actual operation. And, I had to watch the video because there were so many people in the operating room that I needed to see who was talking when in order to properly identify them.
Most of the time, the files I work on are very interesting. But, not this one. I was not happy to have to actually watch a surgery and try and transcribe what the doctors were saying to each other. It was not an easy file and one I hope I never have to do again! Give me a good old fashioned court case of a husband professing his innocence of killing his wife any day!
