Recipe: Bacon and Spinach Alfredo Pizza

Creamy white Alfredo sauce flavored with bacon and spinach gives a delicious unconventional twist on traditional pizza...it's what's for dinner tonight! 

Does your family love pizza as much as mine? 

Bacon Spinach Alfredo Pizza is different than the traditional pizza I usually make for my family. But I decided to try something new and it was amazing!  I usually use homemade pizza dough for my family's Saturday night pizza night, but I tried a loaf of refrigerator dough and it came out great!

The recipe came together really fast too.  I cooked the fresh spinach in the microwave and was really surprised how easy that was!  I think your family is going to enjoy this for dinner tonight.

Bacon Spinach Alfredo Pizza



Here are the ingredients, yes that is a jar of Alfredo sauce too! 

I love to use my bar pan from Pampered Chef.  It helps the crust to brown evenly and get crispy.  Which is how we love pizza!

Use the Baker's Roller to get the dough pressed out into all the corners.  Then use the pastry tool that comes with the roller to poke holes in the dough so it doesn't bubble up when you pre-bake.

Press the spinach through a sieve to get all the excess water out.

Let's assemble the Bacon Spinach Alfredo Pizza!

Combine half the bacon with the Alfredo sauce.

Spread over the entire baked pizza dough.

Add half the mozzarella cheese.

Add all the spinach.  
Add cooked spinach and half the mozzarella cheese to Spinach Alfredo Bacon Pizza from Walking on Sunshine

Add the remaining bacon and mozzarella cheese.  Top with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and freshly cracked black pepper. 
Add another layer of cheese and bacon to the Spinach Alfredo Bacon Pizza from Walking on Sunshine

Bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Slice into squares and enjoy!

Bacon and Spinach Alfredo Pizza

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 package refrigerated pizza crust
  • 8 cups fresh baby spinach leaves
  • 6 slices bacon; cooked and chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves; crushed
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup jarred Alfredo pasta sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Unroll dough and press it into the bottom of a baking pan that has been lightly sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in a preheated 435 degree oven or until the crust is lightly browned.
  3. Place the spinach and two crushed garlic cloves in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover and cook on high for 2 to 5 minutes or until the spinach is wilted.
  4. Place the cooked spinach in a sieve and push the extra moisture/water out. You can also squeeze the spinach dry using paper towels. Try to get as much of the moisture out of the cooked spinach.
  5. Add half the bacon to the Alfredo sauce and spread over the bottom of the pre-cooked pizza crust.
  6. Add half the mozzarella cheese.
  7. Add the spinach.
  8. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and chopped bacon.
  9. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese on top.
  10. Bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Cool slightly before cutting into squares to serve.
