How to Make the Most Delicious Chocolate Banana Protein Smoothie

How to make the most delicious chocolate banana protein smoothie to help keep your energy up the entire day from Walking on Sunshine Recipes.
How do you keep your energy up for the entire day?

My blogging schedule keeps me working from early morning till long into the night.  I am always looking for ways to keep myself fueled and energized to get through the day and get all my work done.

Here are a few easy tips I try to do that help keep my energy level up so I can continue to enjoy this crazy world of blogging.

How to Keep your Energy Level Up for the Entire Day

Eat Protein for Breakfast

A healthy breakfast is key for keeping yourself fueled properly when you have a busy work schedule. Whole-grain cereals, breads, fruit and lean proteins are great choices.  A few ideas for breakfast are a hard-boiled egg with whole-grain crackers or cottage cheese topped with fresh fruit.   Friendship Dairies cottage cheese is packed with protein and gives you all the energy you need to get you through the day.

Drink Plenty of Water

Keeping yourself hydrated is an easy way to keep yourself fueled for a busy work day.  Everyone thinks they drink enough water all day long but if you started keeping track of how much water you are drinking,  you might be surprised that it's not the full recommended eight full glasses.  Try not to drink too many caffeinated or calorie filled sugary drinks as they will only give you a "sugar high" and you'll come crashing down really quick.

Take Scheduled Breaks

I like to set my timer and take a break every 45 to 50 minutes.  I like to step away from the computer and walk around the house for a few minutes.  I might fold a load of laundry or step outside on the back porch to water my flowers.

Rest Your Eyes

If you work on the computer all day like I do, it's important to take a few breaks during the day to rest your eyes.  Every 30 minutes or so, turn away from the computer and close your eyes.  You can also spend some time blinking your eyes to help moisten them.

Eat Protein for Snacks

We're all tempted to reach for a sugary snack in the afternoon just as we're beginning to feel tired. Instead fill up on protein.  Cheese sticks, apples, grapes, peanut butter or humus on whole grain crackers are perfect snacks for the afternoon.  One of my favorite snacks is a smoothie.  I love to add a tablespoon or two of protein powder to my smoothies.  AND I love to add cottage cheese to smoothies as well for even more protein!

  2. Hi Lois,
I drink a shake that is just like that but I use greek yogurt, and I also add some
flax seed as I have heard that bulks it up a lil so it stays with you longer. LOve

  4. This sounds so yummy, mix love banana in my smoothies! Another way to sweeten (if needed) instead of sugar (I love sugar, for the record) is with a few dates. I just blend them with the liquid first so they really get smushed up and tiny. They don't change the flavor of the smoothie either.
