Frugal Dinner Recipes for When You're Broke - Menu Plan Monday

Monday, April 4, 2016

This week's Menu Plan Monday is all about frugal dinner recipes and meals for under $5.00. These are recipes that you can prepare when you're broke from Walking on Sunshine Recipes.

How are you doing with your meal planning?

I'm doing pretty good.  But this week I plan on taking it to the next level.
We did our taxes over the weekend and we need to pay.
We knew we were going to have to, so we've been saving.
But still it's never fun to have to write that check.
On the plus side, we have to pay because of my little blog business.

I thought for this week's Menu Plan Monday we would focus
on frugal dinner recipes and meals under $5.00.  Yes, meals under $5.00!

This week I'm also going to focus on preparing meals from my pantry.
I'm going to try not to go to spend any extra money at the grocery store
and "shop my pantry and freezer" in order to prepare our dinner.

If you're struggling with getting meals together and on the table every night, I suggest you start planning out your meals.  Get the kids involved with the planning also!  Have them pick a meal one night a week.  And make sure they know they need to pick a healthy meal that includes vegetables. Make it fun for them!

First, I want to share this great idea I found on Amazon to help
us all plan our menus and stayed organized.

You can put it right on your refrigerator and fill out every week...

Looks like a great way to help us all stay organized and keep track

Taco Rice Skillet from Ally's Sweet and Savory Eats

This meal can also be ready in 30 minutes!

Sausage and Peppers Pasta from Frugal Living Mom

I used to make this recipe all the time when the kids were little.
I need to pull this recipe out of my recipe file and make it again!

This recipe can be prepared for $5.00 or less.  Feel free to substitute the green beans
for broccoli or another vegetable that might be on sale.

Green Bow Ties from Saving Every Day

Make a tossed salad and some nice garlic bread and dinner is served...

Baked Sloppy Joe Cups from Ready Set Eat

My family loves Sloppy Joes and this would be a great recipe to use
leftover Sloppy Joe meat or even taco meat.

Don't forget to follow along on Pinterest!

I have a board just for Menu Plan Monday for you to check it out
