How to Melt Chocolate - Thursday's Tip

Thursday, January 28, 2016

This week's Thursday's Tip is how to melt chocolate perfectly every time from Walking on Sunshine Recipes.

Chocolate is very easy to melt if you use the right technique.
Chocolate is also very easy to scorch and turn grainy when
just the tiniest bit of water gets added to the chocolate.
For this week's Thursday's Tip, I am going to share with you my favorite
method for melting chocolate.

Over the years I have melted chocolate for many different recipes.
I have also used many different methods for melting chocolate.
My favorite method for melting chocolate is using Almond Bark.

Almond Bark is wonderful.  You can purchase it HERE.
It melts beautifully in the microwave.

I always put down a piece of wax paper to lay my spoons on.  This helps with cleanup.
Begin by place the almond bark in a microwave-safe bowl and place the bowl in your microwave using the low setting and starting out in 30 second intervals.

I love these glass nesting bowls that I received for Christmas a few years ago...

In just a few minutes you have perfectly melted chocolate...

Now, begin dipping.
ALWAYS place your dipped items on a piece of wax paper to dry.

And in no time at all, you'll have delicious chocolate covered strawberries...

Make the above cookies using heart shaped cookie cutters for Valentine's Day!

I love these cookie cutters.
You can really make some fun cookies with all the
different sizes!

  1. I love these tips! I always use the microwave too, but I've never tried almond bark, so that's definitely going on my list. Thanks for sharing. :)
