DIY Industrial Style Message Center

DIY Industrial Style Message Center from Walking on Sunshine.

Do you have a designated Message Center in your house?
We do, but it needed serious help. A few weeks ago, my husband and I went on a search to find the perfect message center. What we found were expensive so, we put together our own message center for under $50. I love what we created!  It's the perfect industrial style message center and it makes for an easy DIY project that you can put together in an afternoon.

This is what our "message center" and mounted key rack looked like a few weeks ago.  It's been this way for about 11 years and desperately needed a change.  They key rack was way too small and the ribbon bulletin board was crowded, over-stuffed and very outdated.

After a little shopping, this is what we put together.
Bulletin board will be turned into a DIY Industrial Style Message Center from Walking on Sunshine.

We purchased a large bulletin board  that had a beautiful black frame.
After some distressing, it looked perfect.

We looked around and saw some pretty great key mounted brackets, but hubby decided to make one on his own. He purchased a 2-1/2 inch by 1/2 inch plank and spray painted it black and then distressed it also with sandpaper. Then he found THESE great hooks and added them to the plank.

The hooks look GREAT.

Now, to hang it...yes, use a level so everything is even and straight.

Don't forget to find the studs first before drilling. Hubby really likes THIS electronic stud finder.

I love our new message center.  And I love that I finally have a place to hang the grocery list
