A few years ago we planted sunflowers in our vegetable garden.
Just a row...behind the tomato plants. I thought they were so beautiful but my husband wasn't too crazy about them because they were really hard to clean up after our growing season so the next spring we didn't plant any.
BUT the sunflowers came back...on their own. And they keep coming back every year. I know it's because the seeds from the sunflower heads get scattered throughout the garden as they dry and fall off then they begin to germinate on their own come the next spring.
I love growing sunflowers in our garden and I love taking photos of them too!
Photos of the sunflowers from my garden this year.
Just starting to form.
Opening up a little more.
I love this photo. So many sunflowers getting ready to bloom.
