Recipe: Valentine's Day Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Recipe: Valentine's Day Chocolate Covered Pretzels from Walking on Sunshine.

Now that February is here we can really start talking about Valentine's Day!
These Chocolate Covered Pretzels are the perfect treat to make for your family.  They're easy and delicious.  You can make a whole bunch of these in a short amount of time.  They're perfect to pack up in cellophane bags to give as gifts for your child's classroom.  I love the taste of sweet and salty combined and these chocolate covered pretzels are perfect!

There's nothing more easier than making chocolate covered pretzels.  But first, you need to melt the chocolate and I really found that using these silicone prep bowls from Pampered Chef is the best way. And if you have leftover chocolate, the lids fit perfectly and you can store the chocolate in the refrigerator until you need to melt it for the next recipe; you know ice cream!

I found the using Utz pretzels are the best for dipping.  They're sturdy and never break when dipping.

And it's fun to use pink chocolate for Valentine's Day, right?  Wilton's Candy Melts are the best melting chocolate and they come in great colors.

After dipping one end of each pretzel in the melted chocolate, lay flat on a piece of waxed paper. Once the pink chocolate has hardened, drizzle with melted chocolate and sprinkle with the heart shaped sprinkles.

It's always fun to add sprinkles to anything, but especially for these chocolate covered pretzels.
And this is the best way to drizzle chocolate!  I've tried the plastic bag trick that seems to work for other people but it just makes a mess for me.  I love this tool from Pampered Chef and it is only $5.00 which is an amazing price for a tool that does so much.  I've used it a few different times and it works great for drizzling and even writing out messages.

If I'm not giving them out as gifts, I store them in a plastic container and they last quite awhile,
but usually not for more than a few days with my family.

Perhaps that is why I enjoy all the crafting and baking that this holiday brings! Thank you so much for this lovely inspiration! Blessings, Kelly-Anne
