How to Package Granola for Gifts
Homemade granola makes a thoughtful gift that’s perfect for snacking or sprinkling over yogurt for breakfast. It’s simple, practical, and something your friends and family will actually use and enjoy.
- Use mason jars to keep the granola fresh longer than plastic containers.
- Use a wide mouth funnel to fill the jars without making a mess.
- Let the baked granola cool completely before storing.
- Fill the mason jars with granola and seal tightly with the lid and ring.
- Decorate the jars with raffia and the printable gift tags.
- If you don't want to use mason jars, you could use cellophane gift bags. Just keep in mind that the granola will not stay as fresh as it will in the mason jar.
- If you want to keep the granola for your family, you can store it in an air-tight plastic container either in the pantry or refrigerator.

Step 1: In a large bowl, combine the oats, nuts, and coconut. Pour in the wet ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Line a large baking sheet with foil and spray with nonstick spray (or use parchment paper), then spread the mixture evenly onto the prepared baking sheet.

Step 2: Bake the granola in a preheated 350°F oven, stirring every 5–10 minutes, until it turns a deep golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely, then stir in any add-ins like dried fruit, sunflower seeds, or mini chocolate chips before packaging.

Insider Tips from My Kitchen to Yours
✔️ DO let the granola cool completely before storing so it stays crisp and crunchy.
❌ DO NOT skip stirring halfway through baking or the granola may brown unevenly.
Storage & Serving Tips
Refrigerate: Store in an airtight container to keep the granola fresh and crisp for up to one month.
Freezer: Freeze in a sealed container for longer storage, then let it come to room temperature before using.
Serving Tips: Enjoy as a snack, over yogurt, or sprinkled on top of fruit or oatmeal.
