Chocolate Glazed Donuts

A few months ago I purchased one of those donut pans that seem to be the craze everywhere.  I purchased it on Amazon and it was really inexpensive.  Took me awhile but I finally made some donuts and it was so easy and really delicious...

THIS is the donut pan I ordered on Amazon.  I love Amazon.  Shipping is really fast and the price was GREAT!

Chocolate Glazed Donuts
(Recipe from Buns in My Oven)

Ingredients:

Donuts:
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 6 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
Glaze:
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 6 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

Combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and baking soda together in a bowl.
In another bowl, combine the egg, sour cream, milk and vegetable oil.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and combine.
Spoon into the donut pan and bake in a 375 degree preheated oven until a toothpick comes out clean; about 8 to 10 minutes.
Let cool before adding the glaze.

Donuts fresh from the oven...

I tried dipping the donuts in the glaze but it was really messy.  I set the donuts on a baking rack over a baking tray that I covered with wax paper and then "poured" or drizzled the glaze on top.  Worked great...

Ready to enjoy...

The original recipe called for mini chocolate chips.  I left them out.  If you would like to get the original recipe with the mini chocolate chips, please visit Buns in My Oven HERE.
