#Throwback Thursday with Scalloped Potatoes

Thursday, May 29, 2014

Today we are starting something NEW with Throwback Thursday.  #Throwback Thursday is huge all over social media and I thought why not incorporate it somehow into the blog.   My hope in doing this is to introduce you to older recipes that have been on the blog for awhile and, also, for me to update them with the "Print Recipe" button.

So every Thursday we will revisit an "old" recipe and hopefully it will be "new" to you...

This week's Throwback Thursday Recipe is Scalloped Potatoes...

Ingredients:
  • 4 or 5 large baking potatoes
  • 2 Tablespoons flour
  • 1 1/2 cups to 2 cups half and half
  • Salt, pepper
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese; grated
  • optional:  add cooked bacon, onions, paprika

Directions:

Clean the potatoes.  They do not have to be peeled, but should be clean.
Slice the potatoes and arrange in an 8 X 10 inch baking dish that has been sprayed with cooking spray.
Combine the flour, salt, pepper along with the half and half.
Pour the mixture over the layered potatoes.
Bake in a 400 degree preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the potatoes are fork tender.
Cover the top of the potatoes with the cheddar cheese and return to the oven until the cheese is bubbly and melted.

Combine the flour, salt, pepper along with the half and half.  Pour over the sliced potatoes...

Bake for 30 minutes or until the potatoes are fork tender.  Spread the 2 cups of cheddar cheese on top and continue to bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly...

An easy and delicious recipe your whole family will enjoy...
