How to Freeze Cookie Dough

Wednesday, May 7, 2014

This week's tip is a great one.  And it has to do with homemade cookies.  Who doesn't love homemade cookies fresh from the oven?  But sad to say, some days we're just too busy to bake.  Here is a great tip for YOU...

The next time you are baking cookies, double the recipe.
Bake only what you need at the moment and freeze the rest.
Here is how I freeze cookie dough and it works really great.

Scoop out the extra cookie dough and place on a baking tray.  Place the baking tray into the freezer for about 30 minutes...

Once the cookie dough balls have frozen, place them in a freezer bag and keep in the freezer...

The next time you have a craving for homemade cookies, just remove as many cookies as you want and place on a baking tray and bake according to the recipe...

All you need now is a glass of milk.

  1. I so needed this. Thanks for sharing. I would have done it a different, and not so great way. This will work much better. Take care.

  2. Really? Well now that IS cool.

  3. What a neat idea, Lois, I usually freeze the whole thing this is great, thanks for sharing.

  4. Hi Lois,
Glad you reminded me of that, cause the last time I made those kind of cookies from the store, I thought
I could do that..................but that was quite some time ago, but now that I am trying to eat gluten free
that would be a marvelous idea for me. I am gonna be trying that for sure. Maybe tomorrow.......
You are so full of great ideas girly...........we appreciate you so much. Have missed you!
Hope this find you and your hubby and kiddos doing well..............
    Blessings Galore,
