I have a delicious recipe for you today.
This recipe for crock pot brisket is easy to make. I like to make it in my crock pot because it fills the house with a heavenly smell and the meat comes out tender and almost ready to fall apart, but it doesn't.
This is my sister-in-law, Beth's, recipe, only she makes it in the oven. Beth shared it with me last year; after many years of asking her for the recipe. I'm really glad I was finally able to convince Beth to share it with me because it is one of my son, Michael's, favorite recipes.
I like to make it for Michael when he comes home for breaks from college now. And it brings back happy memories for me of Beth.
This recipe means so much to me now that Beth is gone. You can read about my sister-in-law's sudden death here.
After the brisket cooks in the crock pot I like to strain the liquid and then place the liquid into a pot on the stove and bring it to a boil. This helps to reduce the liquid into a lovely thick sauce you can use to serve over the brisket.
Crock Pot Brisket
Beth's Brisket Recipe
- 6 pounds brisket
- 1 TBS. fresh garlic
- 1 small jar Heinz chili sauce
- 4 TBS. brown sugar
- Seasoning salt
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
- 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup water
Combine together the garlic, jar of chili sauce and brown sugar.
Place the brisket in the bottom of your crock pot.
Sprinkle with seasoning salt.
Pour the chili sauce mixture on top of the brisket.
Add the beef bouillon cubes along with the water.
Cover and cook on high for 4 to 6 hours or until the meat is tender and starts to fall apart.
This brisket made great sandwiches the following day...
Serve with twice baked potatoes. You can get the recipe HERE...
Easy and delicious.
