Recipe: Crock Pot Brisket

The most delicious brisket recipe you'll ever taste made easy in your crock pot from Walking on Sunshine Recipes.

I have a delicious recipe for you today.

This recipe for crock pot brisket is easy to make.  I like to make it in my crock pot because it fills the house with a heavenly smell and the meat comes out tender and almost ready to fall apart, but it doesn't.

This is my sister-in-law, Beth's, recipe, only she makes it in the oven. Beth shared it with me last year; after many years of asking her for the recipe.  I'm really glad I was finally able to convince Beth to share it with me because it is one of my son, Michael's, favorite recipes.

I like to make it for Michael when he comes home for breaks from college now.  And it brings back happy memories for me of Beth.

This recipe means so much to me now that Beth is gone.  You can read about my sister-in-law's sudden death here.  Beth made the recipe in the oven, and usually the day before she needed to serve it.  This was the recipe she always made for all the Jewish holidays their family celebrated.

I'm so happy she shared the recipe with me!  I know your family is going to enjoy it as much as our family does.

After the brisket cooks in the crock pot I like to strain the liquid and then place the liquid into a pot on the stove and bring it to a boil.  This helps to reduce the liquid into a lovely thick sauce you can use to serve over the brisket.

Easy and delicious.

Crock Pot Brisket - Beth's Recipe

prep time: 15 MINScook time: 4 hourtotal time: 4 hours and 15 mins
This is my sister-in-law, Beth's, recipe for the most amazing delicious brisket.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 pounds brisket
  • 1 TBS. fresh garlic
  • 1 small jar Heinz chili sauce
  • 4 TBS. brown sugar
  • Seasoning salt
  • Seasoning salt
  • Seasoning salt

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Spray the inside of your crock pot with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Combine together the garlic, jar of chili sauce and brown sugar.
  3. Place the brisket in the bottom of your crock pot.
  4. Sprinkle with seasoning salt.
  5. Pour the chili sauce mixture on top of the brisket.
  6. Add the beef bouillon cubes along with the water.
  7. Cover and cook on high for 4 to 6 hours or until the meat is tender and starts to fall apart.
Tip:
  1. After the brisket has cooked, I like to take the cooking sauce and place it in a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil and continue cooking until the sauce has cooked down and thickened. Then use this as a sauce to serve over the brisket.
