M & M Cookies

Monday, October 28, 2013

I hope you all had a nice weekend.  The weather was beautiful here; even if it was a little cold.  Last week I shared the Blueberry Crunch Cake that I made for our church's outreach meal and today I'm sharing with the M&M Cookies recipe I made. They were delicious and don't worry, I only tasted one!  The rest went for the outreach meal.

M&M Cookies

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter;  softened
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 3/4 cups M&M candies

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, cream the butter and both sugars.  Add the egg and butter and mix to combine.
In a separate bowl, sift the flour, salt and soda together.
Slowly add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and combine.
FOLD in the M&Ms.
Drop by rounded tablespoon onto a lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake 8 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
Cool slightly before removing to cool completely on a baking rack.
