Menu Planning

Menu Planning.  It sounds so easy to do....sit down and write out what you're going to make for dinner each night.  Then take this plan, make a list and go grocery shopping.  Now each morning as you start your day, look at your menu plan and you'll be able to answer that all too familiar question...

"What's for dinner tonight, Mom?"

Unfortunately it's not always that easy.  Here are a few great menu plan ideas to help you get into the practice of planning out a menu for your family each week...

This chalk board idea is GREAT.  It's from Home and Heart DIY...

Another idea is to paint chalkboard paint on the back of one of your kitchen cabinets.  This idea is from  Coupon Connections...

And if you wanted to really commit to planning a weekly menu, try this idea from Build a Menu...

I love this menu idea from Our Home Sweet Home.  Have a bunch of menu ideas printed out and stored in the "pockets."  Just take a few minutes each week to choose a different meal and clip them on the board.   You can even have your children take turns choosing the meals...

This weekly menu planner is easy.   If you head over to the link below the photo, you can print out as many as you need...

If you'd rather plan out your menus monthly,  here is one you can print out from

One of our friends on the Walking on Sunshine Facebook Page shared HER idea for planning out meals for her family.  She uses a dry erase board that she hangs on her refrigerator...

Menu planning... it really can make your whole week or month run smoother.  Why not give it a try this week!
