Do you need easy meals that can be ready quick when you come home
after a long day at work?

This recipe for Bacon Wrapped Crock Pot Chicken is just what you need.  With our busy lives, we're all looking for recipes that will help us get dinner on the table quick after a long day at work and still taste good.  This recipe is delicious.  It's easy.  And more importantly, the chicken is wrapped in BACON.  And everything tastes amazing when wrapped in bacon.  Right?

Crock Pot Bacon Wrapped Chicken

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/8 cup lemon juice
  • 5 small apples, peeled and chopped
  • 8 slices of bacon

Instructions

In a small bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice
and the chopped apples; set aside.
Meanwhile, prepare your chicken by placing each chicken breast on top of the strips of bacon.
Wrap the bacon around each chicken breast and place inside the crock pot. I always spray my crock pot with a non-stick spray before adding anything.
Cover the chicken with the barbecue sauce and apple mixture and cook on LOW six  hours or until the chicken is done.
MY crock pot cooks fast, so usually after 4 hours, I check to see if the chicken is done.

Slice and serve...

After I removed the chicken from the crock pot,  I put the liquid through a sieve
which gave me a beautiful thick sauce to use for the chicken.

You can use the Homemade BBQ Sauce from yesterday's post or you can use whichever bottled one that your family enjoys. The recipe for the homemade BBQ sauce can be found HERE.

  7. You have so many good looking chicken recipes, but this one really stood out to me. So many people post crock pot recipes, but I've never seen anything like this...I love the idea of combining the flavors of bacon and apples.

I'd love it if you would come share it at my new link party - Future Expat's Required Ingredient Recipe party that went live today. This week's featured ingredient is chicken, so it is perfect and I bet it would be a big hit with everyone!
