Hurricane Sandy...

Tuesday, October 30, 2012

No Tuesday's Question this week.
I wasn't sure if we were going to have power for me to be able to read all your comments,
so I thought I would post on what's going on in my little area of the world.

Hurricane Sandy

I saw this photo on Facebook yesterday,
to say it's been windy here in PA is really not describing the force or the power of the wind.

The wind has been amazing and quite scary.
As you can see all of PA was under that bubble of the hurricane.
We actually live just north of Allentown, which is in the eastern part of the state...

I spent most of yesterday morning trying to prepare for the worse case scenario...

Thankfully as I write this on Monday evening, we still have power.
The wind outside is still howling and the rain is still falling.

The hurricane is attacking the city I grew up in and still love.
I'm sure the photos we will all see in the coming days will not even begin to tell
the story of the destruction that this hurricane has caused.

Please say a prayer for everyone that has been affected and especially
pray for the workers who will have to restore everything to it's beauty.

  1. Please stay safe, Lois. Definitely joining with you in praying for all those affected.

  2. I am in NJ. Those winds were frightening. Not sure why? but we still have power. I am lucky.

  3. Praying for all of you to stay safe.
    God bless

  4. We are in New York and endured the bulk of Sandy last night. This storm was so wide that we thought we were feeling her all day but didn't get the full dose until early evening. We still have power but millions around here don't. The city, tunnels, subways, highways and bridges are all flooded and closed. I've lived here all my life and this is the worst storm I've ever experienced. New York is pretty much a disaster right now. Stay safe as Sandy heads to you.

  5. Morning Lois,
Was so glad to see you post, and to
know things are okay with you. Was just thinking about a young couple
that used to be in our teen bible study who have moved to Va., so wondering how they faired and also
my cousins who live in Va. as well.

Boy, the pics of New Jersey and New York are terrible, so flooded, think the subways are gonna be down in New York for a bit.
Was just reading that this was the biggest storm to ever hit America.

We have been praying for everyone in those areas and will sure continue.
    Blessings Hon, Nellie
