Sausage Roll...

Sausage Roll, a Family Favorite...

This is such an EASY recipe that we enjoy and makes a FUN meal
for any day of the week, just add a tossed salad and dinner is served.

Ingredients

Italian Sausage, sweet and hot
Peppers
Onions
Pepperoni
Mozzarella Cheese
Pizza Dough, homemade or store bought

Begin by removing the sausage from their casings and add to a hot pan...

With the back of a fork, begin to break up the sausage meat
and cook until browned...

Roll out your pizza dough...

Add your cooked sausage...

Add the peppers and onions.
Now, you can cook these FIRST in the same frying pan after the sausage is done
or you can just add them uncooked, either way is fine.

I cooked the peppers and onions...

Add your pepperoni...

Now cover in mozzarella cheese...

Beginning at one end, start rolling your sausage roll...

Now you can just place your sausage roll on a greased cookie sheet
and let rise for about 30 - 60 minutes, brush with olive oil
and bake in a 425 degree oven until golden brown...

The last time I made this, I "very carefully" placed the uncooked sausage roll in a greased bundt pan.
I saw this idea on Pinterest and thought it looked GREAT.
It was a little tricky but it made the slices so pretty.

Let this rise also for 30 - 60 minutes, brush with olive oil and then bake
in a 400 degree oven until golden brown...

Delicious...

You can find the pizza dough recipe that I use HERE.

Enjoy your day!

That looks so yummy. I am going to make this over the weekend.
I can't wait, I know my family is going to love this.
Our oldest is coming home this weekend from college and I know he is going to love it. I think I will make 2 so he can bring one back with him for him and his dorm room friend,I am always sending our son back with great food and his roommate loves it when our son comes home because he knows there are going to be goodies and good food for them to share.
I am so happy I can to do this for our son. Then I know he is eating very well. As a Mom that makes me feel great.
Thanks again for a new yummy recipe.
Happy cooking and baking,
Tricia

Yummy! My family loves when I make treats like this. We usually make some with ham and cheese in them, some with cheddar and ground beef and of course good ol' pepperoni and cheese.

We make these, too! I like to make mini ones and put them in the freezer for a quick lunch. My favorite filling is broccoli, cauliflower, and cheese. I never though of putting them in a bundt pan. That would make a fun appetizer!
