My Favorite Top Three...

I want to thank everyone who joined our first
Foodie Friends Friday linky party.
The recipes that were submitted were ALL delicious-looking
and I had so much fun visiting everyone.

We will be doing this again on Friday, so start thinking of what you want to contribute!

We will also be letting everyone know the
TOP THREE recipes that participated on Friday...isn't that exciting?

Beginning today, I plan on sharing with you
MY THREE FAVORITE recipes from the Linky Parties every Monday.

This week MY THREE FAVORITE recipes were:

submitted by From Calculus to Cupcakes...

submitted by Family Food Finds...

And finally, Chocolate Banana Trifle
submitted by A Day in the Life of Liz in the Kitchen...

So what three were YOUR favorite?
Click HERE to go back to the Linky Party
and check out all the entries.

Don't forget on Friday we'll be announcing the
TOP THREE recipes!

Now on to my garden!

First tomato...

First zucchini...

And now a question...

What do you do with old pantyhose?

This is what I do...

I use them for ties for my tomatoes.
They "stretch" as the tomatoes grow and don't PINCH the tomato stems.

They come in handy, don't you think?

Enjoy your day!

Please come back tomorrow for
Tuesday's Question.
And don't forget to start thinking NOW
about what you want to share for
Foodie Friends Friday!

  1. Peach *anything* sounds good to me, and those look delicious!

I wonder if I could find pantyhose at a thrift store. I'm not sure I even own a pair, but that's a great use for them!

  2. I use old pantyhose for the very same thing, Lois! I've done this for years, they are wonderful for tying up tomatoes.

  3. I use pantyhose for the same thing. Works like a charm! Although, I only planted cherry tomatoes this year...a little less work but I shall miss my beefsteaks.

  4. It's great reaping the rewards of the garden! Yours looks great! Can't wait to get tomatoes because I love just a mayonaise and tomato sandwich....can't beat that for lunch! :)

I don't wear pantyhose if I can get by with it; maybe tights in the winter if necessary but your idea is a good one. I believe I've seen my dad use my mom's for the exact same thing!

Have a great week, Lois! :)

  7. This horrible heat has killed my garden, I'm going to get out there today and try and salvage what I can but most of it is dead. :(

Great recipes you shared, they all look yummy :)

  8. Your garden looks good- ours is still in the initial stage but if this heat continues - it should do good.

  9. I do the same thing with my old panty hose. The thing is, I don't wear them like I used to so I don't have many old ones lying around.

  10. Thanks dear Sister for liking my trifle....you should make it, whenever I make it, it "wows" everyone, and there's never any leftovers! :)

And.....I remember the day I tied up my veggie plants with my pantyhouse....they were BLUE...imagine we use to wear blue pantyhose! Daddy got such a kick out of it that I used pantyhouse to tie up my tomatoes...Martha would be proud, cause I got the idea from her! :)

  11. Oh my goodness I love the panty hoes idea! I always feel guilty throwing them away because I wish I could reuse them! :) I'm jealous of your beautiful garden. We have sand as a yard and didn't get moved in soon enough to get garden boxes built. Keep your fingers crossed that we'll get it done next year!

  12. I love peaches - I mean how could I not - I am from the peach state! lol sandie

  13. Pantyhose? What's that?

Seriously... I have not had a job that required hose since the 90's. That was an expensive habit, wasn't it? Unless you wanted to have oddly fizzy legs, you had to spend some big bucks. With any luck you'd get two wears out of them before they were designated for long-skirts or pants only....

I saw that the British were trying to revive hose. They can keep them.
