Peach Crunch Cake

My Colonel comes home later today.
(He's been away training with the cadets for over a month)

This week's Something Yummy for My Colonel's Tummy is a new recipe I made to welcome him home.  And yes, it's EASYDELICIOUS.

Peach Crunch Cake

Ingredients:
  • 24.5 ounce can of sliced peaches; (I used peaches in lite syrup)
  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1 stick of butter cut into pieces
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (which I didn't have)
Directions:

Begin by emptying the canned peaches, JUICE also, into a 13 X 9 baking dish that has been sprayed with a non-stick spray.  
Sprinkle the cake mix on top.
Add the butter that has been cut into pieces.
Add the brown sugar, followed by the chopped walnuts; I used dark brown sugar.
Bake at 350 for 40 minutes.


Ready for the oven...



Looks and smells so good...



All that's needed is a little whipped cream...



PERFECT!

You can add blueberries to the peaches OR use any other canned fruit.

    was so happy to hear he will still be employed at the same place, didn't realize that he had the situation of possibly losing that position. God is good, always looking out for us.

    Hubby and I are feeling much better thank you! and yes, we are so happy for both our kids. Dee passed her state boards today for Mammography so now she can just enjoy life again.......cause she was having to study a lot and it was very hard to focus when she is wanting to have a good time with her new hubby. lol

  17. Peaches are a weakness of mine, and if I made this I would have to eat it all myself (no one else in the home likes peaches). I may try to turn this into a single serve. Looks delish!

    This sounds wonderful. I've made something similiar but it didn't have the brown sugar on top. I'm going to most certainly give this a try because I love easy and I think it will go over very well here!

  31. I'm glad I saw Gina Solomon's comment. I was considering doubling the peaches, half fresh, half canned for the juice. So I'm going to for sure. Also considered adding another half cake mix but with her comment, it sounds like it'll come out fine! Thanks!! Making today!
