Tuesday's...Wednesday's Question!

This week's Tuesday's Question has become
Wednesday's Question because sometimes life happens.

"So, what happened to me yesterday that I missed posting?"

If you are friends with me on Facebook then you know
the answer to this week's question.

But I'll give everyone else the lovely details to keep you all
up to date on my life...because it's just so interesting.

Monday night I decided to go grocery shopping while Michael was at karate practice.
Of course, the Colonel was with me.
I mentioned to him as we were in the grocery store that my legs felt weird
and I was really tired.
So tired that I went to bed right when we got home,
only to wake up at 2:30 in the morning with the worse pain in my stomach
proceeded by the worse vomiting I've had in YEARS.

The Colonel skipped Physical Training with the cadets to stay home with me
but I insisted he go to work because he had classes to teach.
Around 8:00 I responded to a text he sent me asking him to please come
home and take me to the emergency room.

I knew I needed help.
I couldn't stop throwing up.
I couldn't get off the bathroom floor.

My mother, thank the Lord, came over to try to help me get dressed
and, obviously that failed since I went to the ER in my pajama top and
never even looked in the mirror to see what my hair looked like.

Yes, that is a HUGE CLUE I was sick.
I never leave the house without looking in a mirror.

We arrived at the ER and they took me right away.

I spent the next few hours hooked up to an IV, receiving medicines
to stop the stomach pain and more importantly stop the nausea and vomiting.

Thank God for medicine.

I was able to come home in the early afternoon
with a warning to return if the vomiting returned.

I spent the rest of the day in bed...

Which is so much better than spending my day HERE...

So, let me know what you all were up to yesterday!

Enjoy your Wednesday!

Morning Lois,
So sorry to hear you were feeling so horrible. Hope today is much better for you. Yes, thank the Lord for meds that relieve symptoms like that, cause you can sure get dehydrated and so weak. The older we get the harder
that kind of flu is for us too. Take it easy, and don't overdue even if you are feeling better, cause easy to have a relapse..........
Take care, and will be praying for no more bad symptoms.
Blessings hon,
Nellie

Bless your heart, honey! That sounds like food poisoning~ I had the same thing happen to me about a year ago from a bad plate of shrimp! *UGH*
Hope you're feeling better now... I know there is nothing funny about what you've been through the last 24 hours but I have to admit~ the little cartoon made me giggle! :)

I bet anything that you had a terrible bout of food poisoning, Lois. Sounds exactly like something that happened to me several years ago...sickest I've ever been. Hope you're now on the mend!

I am so thankful you got to the hospital! Did they determine what exactly was wrong? I hope you get lots of rest and get better fast.♥

P.S. I laughed at your comment about looking at your hair before you go anywhere. Isn't that just what we women do! :-) That reminded me of my mom who said we had to make sure to always wear clean underwear in case we were in an accident.

I'd rather have a root canal than throw up. So glad you are better. I spent the day in bed or close to it. I have a cold that has made me lazy.

Sorry to hear that you were down and out! Hope that you have a quick recovery. Did they have any idea what the cause of the N&V was? So rest and will say a prayer for you.

Wow, so did you just have a horrible case of the flu? Hope you're on the mend.

Oh poor you, Lois! I really hope you get this out of your system very quickly but I was thinking how glad you must be to have the Colonel home for you instead of like this time last year.
Take it easy!

My, that's NOT a day you would ever want to repeat! So glad that you are feeling better!

Yesterday, I spent the day driving home from my father's town, 250 miles away. A long trip by myself especially since I fit in a doctor's appointment and a 2 hour hair highlighting appointment en route! So thankful that GOD had His angels around my vehicle and He brought me safely back to my Hubby's arms. {smile}

So glad to hear you are feeling better. You are probably still a little shaky from all that throwing up.

I too was sick in bed yesterday but mine was die off from some herbs that were getting the toxins out of my body.

Oh Lois, I'm so sorry you had to go through that.
Hubs and I had food poisoning a few years ago and we both wound up in the ER hooked up next to each other. No fun!
Take care and get your strength back.

Hmm, I was at work yesterday. Glad I wasn't where you were! My least favorite place to be. I do hope you are completely on the mend, Lois. The only time I had such horrible vomiting as you describe was when I (and almost our entire office) got the Norwalk virus from eating our Christmas lunch at the local country club. Awful!! worst.Christmas.ever.
Feel better!! -Tammy
