Thanksgiving Recap...

A week ago today I was cooking up a storm!

Getting ready for the BIG day...

Thanksgiving!

Today,

I'd like to share with you a few pictures of 

Thanksgiving Day here at our house.

Tuesday's Question...

A few weeks ago I would have had no CLUE 

of my answer to today's question

because I had no idea

what it was all about.

But, here goes.

This week's TUESDAY QUESTION is...

"Do you PINTEREST?"

I had no idea what Pinterest was until a few weeks ago.

Oh, I saw a lot of people mentioning it on 

FACEBOOK

but I had no clue what it was all about.

I love...

Before I discovered Pinterest, I kept files on my computer

that I would copy and paste different recipes or ideas into that I found

while reading blogs.

Not anymore! 

Now I have a place to "pin" or store these fabulous ideas!

I love "pinning" the many wonderful craft ideas that 

I hope to one day find time to create...

I can even "pin" quotes...

And even scenes from my favorite movies.

"And then I heard his voice..."

But more importantly,

 I love having a place to "pin" the many recipes that I want 

to one day try.

Such as this recipe I found a few weeks ago for...

Yes, you heard right, 

Snickers Popcorn.

I decided to make this recipe for Thanksgiving

to give as a little gift to all our guests...

I'll share the recipe on Friday!

My Girl...

My Girl is on her way back to college.

We had a wonderful week with her home.

But school is calling and she has classes

to attend and finals to take soon.

She'll be home again in 3 weeks for Christmas break.

I can't wait!

So, no recipe today.

I'm a little tired.

I didn't even think I would get this posted

as we left the house really early.

BUT...

I read this verse awhile ago and it jumped out at me.

I love how it's all laid out for us.

Walk, fear, keep, obey, serve and cleave.

Seems like a plan.

The Day After...

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.

It was really nice here.

The food was delicious,

and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

Now, just a word of advice for everyone today...

Do not get on the scale!

And if you do decide to do some exercising today,

THIS is a great way to drop some pounds...

And remember,

YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT...

But seriously, after yesterday, we all need to remember ONE important thing.

THIS is the correct way to weigh yourself...

That's how I did this morning and everything

was GREAT!

Something cute for today...

May your stuffing be tasty

May your turkey plump,

May your potatoes and gravy 

Have never a lump. 

May your yams be delicious

And your pies take the prize,

And may your Thanksgiving dinner

Stay off your thighs!

I Am Thankful...

I am thankful for:

The mess to clean up after a party because it

 means I have been surrounded by friends.

The taxes I pay because it means that I'm employed, well the Colonel is!

My shadow who watches me work because it means I am out in the sunshine.

The spot I find at the far end of the parking lot 

because it means I am capable of walking.

All the complaining I hear about our government 

because it means we have freedom of speech.

That lady behind me in church who sings off key because it means I can hear.

The piles of laundry and ironing because it means my loved ones are nearby,

especially this week because Olivia is home! 

My huge heating bill because it means that I am warm.

Although the kids would disagree.  

They always want the thermostat raised.

Weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day 

because it means that I have been productive.

My Favorite...

The alarm that goes off in the early morning hours 

because it means that I am alive!

Let's all take a few moments to remind ourselves that we 

can always find something to be thankful for, 

not just now during Thanksgiving, 

but all year long!

And seriously, I'm trying the following...

On the menu at our house tonight:

No cooking for me...tonight it's

pizza and a movie!
