Something Yummy for My Colonel's Tummy...

Yesterday I shared with you

Most of the time when you're cooking with pie crust,
either homemade or store-bought,
you have leftover dough.

What to do besides eating it raw?

When I was a little girl my mother use to take the dough
and sprinkle the pieces with cinnamon and sugar
and bake them along with the pie in the oven.

In our house, the extra pie crust never makes it to our oven.
The Colonel loves raw dough.

This is what I made with it last week.
Gather up your leftover dough and
roll it out again.
(I know some people say you should never roll out dough twice)
But, just roll it out, okay?
Brush melted butter all over the dough and then
sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar...
Roll up your dough...
I found that by wrapping it up in plastic and then placing in the
refrigerator for an hour or two makes it easier
to slice...
Doesn't that look DELICIOUS...
Place in a mini muffin pan that's been sprayed really well...
Brush each one with more butter and sprinkle some more
cinnamon and sugar on them.
Bake at 425 until they are golden brown and
your house smells like heaven...
Something simple that I know a lot of people do
with leftover dough but still worth sharing...

On the Menu at our house tonight...

Please come back tomorrow to see who's on my
Saturday's Weekend Reading List.

Enjoy your Friday!

  1. Sounds like a good treat. All my kids liked the raw dough, but now if I bake I could make a snack like these.

  2. What a great idea. Those look delicious.

  3. How easy is that? My husband's mother use to use pie dough in place of shortcake for "strawberry shortcake" recipe. It was so good.

  4. Hi Lois,
    Those cinnamon rolls look divine!!
Nothing like em!! but have to say
I have never made them myself, I am not great with dough. Wish I had you living near me to teach me the ropes of making and rolling dough.

Thanks for dropping by and know you are beyond excited that Olivia will be home soon. Know that will make your Thanksgiving list for sure.
Saw your cute place cards, very nice, and like to use Thanksgiving verses as well. great idea!

That chicken pot pie looked mighty scrumptious too! That colonel is a lucky man.............
course, we know there is no such thing as luck in the christian life, so he is a blessed man for sure!!

Have a wonderful weekend, I am off to work on my table as well.

    Love and Blessings, Nellie

  5. Those look totally yummy. I used to do the cinnamon and rebake when the boys were little. This sounds so much better.

  6. Oh I can almost smell those! Yummm... I'll have to try them. Thanks for sharing!

  7. I can remember my mom making something similar to these when I was little. The house always smelled wonderful! Wishing you a nice weekend and a blessed Thanksgiving!

  8. My grandmother used to make those for us when we came to see her. They were sooooooooooooo good.
