Mark  Chapter 2
Verse 2:

"And straightway many were gathered together,
insomuch that there was no room to receive them,
no, not so much as about the door:
and he preached the word unto them."

Verses 4-5:

"And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press,
they uncovered the roof where he was:
and when they had broken it up,
they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy,
Son, thy sins be forgiven thee."

From the time I was a little girl, I've heard this story;
heard about these men
who were willing to do anything
to help their friend get to Jesus.

They were desperate to get help for their friend.
So desperate they took the roof off the house
to lower their friend down to where Jesus was sitting.

But never before have I thought about this story this way...

Shouldn't I be willing to do anything to get close to Jesus?

Shouldn't I be desperate?

Shouldn't YOU?

YES!

All we have to do is reach out.
He's right there.
Waiting.
Patiently.

All we have to do is ask.

Thank you Debbie for helping me "see" an old familiar Bible story
in a whole new way.
Please visit her blog to read her post on these verses.
She takes it one step further!

Enjoy your Sunday!

  2. Where there is a will there is a way. We have to be willing to look in the right direction: up! I too, made the ham and cheese roll-ups. They were a hit. I'm to make a vegetable dish for our connection group for Wed. night. Any ideas?

  3. When we get the reward, those insurmountable obstacles, don't look all that bad. Its a matter of perspective.

  6. Morning Lois,
Yes, that was a very very good point to those scriptures, I went over to read Debbies post as well. Very good.
I tell my hubby that sometimes you sort of wish you could get outside your own body and walk around and see yourself the way others see you. Cause many times I wonder what do people see, and of course, I am certainly hoping, like you said, that they see Jesus in me.
Like Debbie inferred, that should certainly be our goal as christians.

Good thought provoking post my dear. Hope all is well with you and yours. I am reeling from the realization that it is mid November and I haven't done the first Bit of Christmas shopping yet, typically I am mostly done by Thanksgiving.
Just a wee bit behind!! lol

You have a great day sweetie,
    Love and Blessings, Nellie
