Hamburgers with Caramelized Onions...

with Caramelized Onions...

I start with an 80/20 blend of chopped meat.
I always call it chopped meat...I'm from Queens!

Add a few chopped onions and form the hamburgers...

When I'm not barbecuing our hamburgers outside on the grill I always use
my cast iron grill pan.  I love it!

After cooking the hamburger on one side for a few minutes,  flip the burger and
then place the pan in a 425 degree oven.
I do this BECAUSE the hamburger splatters everywhere and makes my stove top a mess.

Ready to go in the oven...

In another pan, I start sauteing the onions in butter...

Sprinkle 1 Tablespoon of flour over the onions...

Cook the flour in the onions, stirring constantly for a few minutes
and then add a beef bouillon cube mixed with 1/2 cup water or
ONE of these packets along with 1/4 cup water...

Continue cooking your onions until you have a beautiful thick gravy that
you can serve over your hamburger...

Feel free to add a hamburger bun!
