You know it's time to update your blog
when your husband sends you an email from Afghanistan
sounding like the Colonel he is
insisting that I update with something!
It's just been so hard to find something, anything to write about!
Not much going on in my life.
My Colonel is still in Afghanistan.
And I'm still missing him.
Michael has now added football to his routine.
He still does karate.
And he broke his toe a few weeks ago.
Olivia is babysitting and out almost all the time.
She is 17 and loving having her driver's license.
I am still here worrying about Olivia driving,
worrying about Michael playing football and
yes, worrying about my Colonel.
BUT...I have pictures!
So if you come back tomorrow I hope to have some pictures of my Colonel's living arrangements over in Afghanistan.
I have to say I'm very impressed with what he's done
with his half a shipping container!

I am glad to see you back, Lois. Looking forward to seeing the pics when you get the post up.
I cannot even begin to imagine how the Colonel and the other service men and women over in those parts can function in 140 degree heat--I will definitely think twice the next time I am outside and lamenting the heat and humidity, and pray for those who are serving.

Glad all is well. I think many of us here in blogland are taking breaks this summer. Look forward to your photos.

All things are in God's Hands, even the General. God bless him! I have faith that you will find your God-given purpose through this trial and come out better for it. God bless you, Lois.

There you are....I was beginning to wonder...I do know how you feel. Or for me sometimes I feel like if I can't think of anything "up" to post about, then don't post anything at all..17 and driving is a hard age...I remember it well...and after 3 sons and NUMEROUS injuries I know all about broken toes too! Praying that the time that the Colonel has left will go quickly and that the Lord keeps you all safely in His loving hands...HUGS, Debbie

Missed you! How much longer till the Colonel comes home????
Debbie says
OK! I was about to email you today and ask how you were doing. I'm battling upper respiratory problems for my third week and remembered you'd been ill with something similar in the past. I'm glad to hear you are with us and the Colonel is right, post something. I've been having trouble posting too lately. I think everyone is, judging by the blogs I follow. It's too hot to get out and do anything!

It is always great to see one of your posts! Thanks Colonel, for insisting on an update (and always for your service!)

Good Morning~
It is really good to hear from you. I pray for your husband on my prayer list. It wont be long now and he will be home.
My husband has been gone all month finishing his Doctorate . Next week he flies out again for a meeting. The back to school schedule starts next week. I just don't see how you do it. I have to fight being angry when he is gone~silly but I do!
I feel so lost when he is gone. Do you battle with that?
I am off to plan the day.
You have a wonderful day!

Hi Lois - Was starting to get worried about you as you seldom take such a long absence from blogging. Glad you are okay, looking forward to the pictures!

Hi Lois.
And yes, I saw your post today about finally having peace. I smiled when I read it. For some reason, life's storms and Christ walking out in the midst of them like he did on the sea has been on my mind alot lately. Even our Sunday school teacher and Scot read scripture and commented on it at church Sunday.
I pray you continue to have peace. You may have to renew it every day....but God's peace is there for you....and once again, you and the Colonel are such a blessing to us all.
Love,
Liesa

I can't wait to see the pics. Thank you to your husband for his service for our country. I really appreciate the sacrifice that all of you are making.
Maybe you can blog all about the beginning of school.
Surely you have some interesting stories with Olivia driving! Ha!
My Olivia has turned 15, and is now eligible to apply for a driver's permit, but so far has not expressed any interest. I'm not pushing it!
Have a great day!

Glad you're back. I have thought and worried about you.
Just post that you're ok and we'll be happy.
Can't wait to see your pics of the Colonel's makeover. Glad the kids are both doing well, except for the broken toe.
Take care!
