Sorry I've really been missing in action here!

But I heard all the screams every time you all came here
looking, hoping, pleading
for a new post...

Okay, back to reality.

Just a quick update on what's going on.

A few weeks ago I had an episode of a rapid heart beat.
We thought it was from the medicine I was on.

I had two other episodes last week.
The first one woke me up again at around 3:00 in the morning.
I made it to the doctor by 9:30, who then sent me to a heart specialist, who then proceeded to hook me up to an IV and inject some medicine into my heart to get my heart rate
down from 150.

Crazy, huh?

The next night it happened again.
Only I had medicine this time and was able to take the medicine
and get my heart down from the 137 it climbed to.

Seems I'm having a tiny, little problem with stress.

You think?

So I am now on two different medications to deal with the heart racing problem.
I've had 4 EKG's and an echo cardiogram.

Everything is normal with my heart.

I just need to get the stress under control.

While all this is going on, I had to go for an MRI on my right hip.
I mentioned to my doctor a few weeks ago that my legs were
hurting really bad in the mornings.
He started pulling on my legs and felt something weird on my right hip.
He sent me for an xray which came back showing something on my right hip.

I went for the MRI last Friday.
Monday afternoon the doctor calls and says there's 2 somethings...
I have no other word to use...
of "unknown etiology" on my right hip.

So now I'm going to a specialist tomorrow to see what I'm dealing with.

I think one thing is for sure.
I need to make sure the medicine that controls my heart rate is with me!

Oh and I need to tell you all about my fall from the platform at church this past Sunday.

Life sure has gotten interesting around here!

  1. Am sending all my positive thoughts to you. Good that you're on top of it and getting things figured out.

  2. I keep a prayer journal, and I'll be adding this request to it, both for your heart rate and your hip. I'm still praying for your husband.

  3. Oh my, my prayers are with you sweetie, I hope whatever is in the hip can be fixed, and I have had the heart racing/panic attacks many times in the past and they are very scary!! I'm glad you got meds to help it and I sure hope they get you all fixed up soon! ((BIG HUGS))

  4. Good gravy! What a week you are having! All those tests would stress anybody and not knowing is the worst part. Best wishes and cyber hugs coming your way right now!

  5. Lois lot's of things seen on MRI turn out to be nothing more than cysts or scar tissue. My dad had an MRI on his chest and it showed a spot which turned out to be scar tissue. I pray that yours is nothing serious. We'll keep praying for you. You have enough on your plate right now. Blessings my friend.

  6. Oh, Lois, you have so much going on in your life right now. I have been and will continue to pray for you! Do you think the fall at church had anything to do with your hip? Praying all will be well!

    Kindly, ldh

  7. Lois what are we going to do with you girl! Stress can do awful things to us so please however you have to do it, try and relax. Sorry to hear there is now something going on with your hip. I pray that God will heal it completely whatever it may be. Let's show those doctors a miracle and what God can do if we just ask him.
    Enjoy your weekend,

  8. Dealing with stress can be...so stressful!! So sorry all you have been dealing with - and, of course, your colonel is deployed:) Sure you saw that coming....praying that God gives you comfort, and rest, and wisdom...and less stress!:) Glad you were able to update - take care!

  9. Keeping you in my prayers!

I can realate to the heart/stress problems - I've had that happen to me before. I had to wear a heart monitor and have ekg's and they found nothing! Very frustrating.

Praying that your hip problem can be solved easily.

  10. I am saying a prayer right now. I can really relate to the heart rate problem. I went through the same thing about 10 years ago. I have been on medication to slow down the rate since. I feel great. It just took some time to figure out what was going on. My rate would jump from 60 to 240 for no real reason. Apparently an inherited tendency. They initially told me that mine was stress too, but finally determined it could be worsened by stress but wasn't caused by stress. I tell you all of this because I remember it helped me to know that other women had similar heart issues. I hope they can determine what your hip problem is and get that under control as well. Know that I will be praying for you!

  11. Rough week so I am sending prayers your way from Georgia. Let us know what is going on. I know it must be so stessful for you.

  12. Oh Lois I can totally relate with the racing heart problem. I have it and palpitations for YEARS...I too have been to a specialist many times, had lots of tests, and they always come up with nothing and call it stress. Now some of the times I was dealing with stress, but other times not so much. I do take medicine daily for the racing part (which works wonderfully btw) and does work for the palpitations as well and my blood pressure. HOWEVER, now that it has been 3 years since my hysterectomy, both things have almost completely (not totally, but close) disappeared. My heart rate is hardly ever out of the 60's and is NEVER over 80 (though I am sure it is the meds) My latest doc told me the whole thing he believed was related to harmones (or lack of them) and the change of life. It is all very confusing and the docs don't all agree as always. BUT the good part? The Lord has been the one constant that has seen me through. And one thing I do know for sure, stress DEFINITELY complicates the problem, and you sure have your fair share. I do pray for you all everyday, and now I will pray a little more specifically. Try not to worry on the hip. I can honestly tell you that by far the vast majority of people I know who have something show up on this test, have it turn out to be nothing at all. And a fall? Oh Lois, how draining. This is all a little overwhelming I am quite sure. Praying over here...Hugs, Debbie

  13. I am sure going to keep you in my prayers. I sure do hope that the hip is nothing serious.
My dil has the racing heart and she has to wear a heart monitor for a couple of months.
Have a restful weekend and I'll keep praying for you.

  14. Oh my goodness, you poor thing! I will be lifting you up in prayer.

  15. I take 3 meds to keep my heart rate down. They make me rather tired. Hope you fare better.

Obviously, I hope the doctor finds the "somethings" on the hip are just old scar tissue or something benign. What a fright to have to face w/o yer hubby there, wah!

  16. Sending up prayers for you! Certainly, when it rains it pours. -Tammy

  17. Let us know as soon as you hear about your hip....I had no idea that stress could cause your heart to race! I am glad that you had the echos.
I will be praying for you.

  18. Hi Sunshine,
Wow, I didn't know you fell, do you think it had any connection to your hip?? I sure hope not.
Be sure and let me know when you get your results back. Will be praying all is well hon.
    Blessings, Nellie
Hope your heart epidsodes have stopped.
    Have a good weekend.

  19. Praying for you, Lois!

    Isaiah 40:31

    Love~ Jen

  20. oh my goodness! we will be praying for you and hubby!! May you find peace and protection (and rest from your anxiety) in the shadow of our Most High God.

  21. Oh dear. You're tucked into prayer and I know, a little, of what you're enduring. Trying times, these days, in more than one way.

  22. Bless your heart, you are having a time aren't you. Hey, stress is nothing to sneeze at...it can wear a body out. I had a panic attack once and really believed I was going to cross on over to my reward right then and there. Very scary time for you just now. As far as your hip and your fall and your specialist visit...putting it all on the prayer list right now.

  23. Oh my goodness Lois, what's going on? I'm so sorry to hear you're having so much trouble.
I'm going to be in prayer about your dr. visit.
    Please take care of yourself.

  24. Holly Cow if you were not stressed out before your sure stressed out now. I will pray for you to have good health and less stress. Guess you will not be hippity hopping along the bunny trail with the Easter bunny with your hip next Sunday:)

  25. Lois, what have you gone and done now....No seriously I hope you are doing ok, My chest this week has been killing me... no racing heart... just pain. I pray for you and your family every night and will continue to do so. Hope they find out what is going on with your hip. SENDING YOU BLESSING AND HUGS! Remember don't tell God how big your problems are, tell your problems how big your God is!
