Snow, snow, snow...

Friday, February 12, 2010

So it seems we had a lot of snow here on Wednesday.

A lot of snow.

The view from our back porch.
So beautiful.

Don't think I'll be able to get into my potting shed any time soon...

We had close to 2 feet fall on Wednesday.
The power was out for about 4 hours.
NOT FUN.

There was so much snow that the guy who plows our driveway actually
got stuck in the snow in our driveway.

Michael on his way to help Joe, the plow guy...

There's the plow truck, stuck in our driveway.
He actually needed someone to come and tow him out.

School was cancelled Wednesday and Thursday due to the snow.
The wind blew so hard during the night.

Thankfully all was well and nothing blew off the house.

The sun came out on Thursday.
The plow guy returned and finished the job.

Everywhere you looked it was so beautiful.
So bright.
So white.

Reminds me of the following verse:

"Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool."
Isaiah 1:18

Isn't it amazing to know that no matter what we've done,
no matter what sin we've committed,
the Lord sees us as white as the freshly fallen snow...

As long as we're first covered in the cleansing blood of the Lamb.

Enjoy your day!

  2. What a wonderful way to view the besutiful snow, Lois...I really like that. Just goes to show how much we should always look around God's creation for reminders of His awesome goodness.

Hope you were able to stay warm with the power out!! It's so funny because I will still find myself trying to turn on a light switch when the power goes out!

    blessings and hugs,

  4. We haven't had snow like that in a long time.
(I hesitate to say that..cuz it might just happen!)

It makes for some pretty pictures though...and I loved your verses about our scarlet sins being made whiter than snow.

But it can get confining...and I bet you are looking forward to Spring so you can soon be "Walking on Sunshine" again!

  8. Amen Lois. All praise and glory to the Lamb!
What beautiful pictures! Even though that much snow can be difficult to deal with it is such a beautiful change from the ordinary. I don't think I could live where there wasn't snow in the winter! I'm sure the kids enjoyed having a few days off from school too! Hugs, Loretta

  11. Bless your heart. I guess I didn't realize he was gone. We have had 8 members of our family over there at one time or another since the war began. My sister is married to a Navy pilot who is the reserves now and also flys for Southwest, so she never sees him. I know how hard it is on you and your family. I will be praying super hard for you. Thanks for letting me know.

    God bless you.

  17. Have watched how the virginians have endured the snow from the news -- now I read about it first hand. Snow is headed our way- coming from the south!

  18. So funny (or maybe sad) how quickly my "spiritual thoughts" about snow turned into truly not-so-spiritual thoughts!!:) When the plow guy gets stuck, you know you are in trouble!! Hopefully that sun will stay out for a couple days - even weeks!!
