Did You Miss Me?

Thursday, January 7, 2010

I know I sure missed you!

Life has been interesting these past 2 weeks.

Christmas was wonderful.

but wonderful.

And of course the Colonel left the day after Christmas.

Here's a picture of him at the airport after
I dropped him off at 5:00 in the morning!

I  needed a little break after saying good bye.

I know you all understand.

He arrived in Afghanistan last weekend
and we've been able to connect on the computer a few times.

He's adjusting to his surroundings.

We're adjusting to living without him.

It's going to be a LONG year.

Enjoy your weekend!

  1. Hi Lois,
I truly have missed your posting, and I completely understand. You and your family have been on my mind so much lately, and in my prayers as well. The Colonel looks great, and I am so glad that you all have been able to connect,

Your new blog look is wonderful and so fitting.
    Sending much love your way.

  2. I like the new look on your blog. That is great that you are able to talk to your hubby on computer. I'll be praying for him and for you too!
    Hugs, Rhondi

  3. I DID miss you and I love your new blog. I do so much appreciate your family for serving our country and I'll be praying also.

    Blessings My Friend

  4. Blessings to you at home and the General across the sea. But just think: If you are with Jesus, and he is with Jesus, and Jesus is with you both, then you are both close in spirit, though separated in body. And, thank God for computers!

  5. Love the new look of the blog and I can understand the need for some time. I know what you are going through I will be going through with my son and I pray daily for the strength to do it, my son will be going to Fort Benning, Ga for basic, but then comes up to Maryland for AIT. I'm happy to hear you got to connect with the Colonel via computer, I'm sure that helps so much! I'm always available if you need a shoulder and I think you'll be surprised by how fast the year passes:)

  6. Yes mam! I do miss you when you don't post. Like the new look of your blog too.

Do you have a webcam? You can join Skye.com for free and you two can talk and see each other.

My daughter's boyfriend left for Iraq on Christmas day and she is looking into getting a webcam. Will keep you posted about that.

  7. What a blessing it is that you can talk to him by computer. Those poor women during WW1 and WW 2.

  8. Oh Lois ~

The look on the Colonel's face says it all!
How he didn't want to leave you.
    What a precious man.
I praise GOD for families like yours!
Will keep you both close in heart and lifted in prayer. Thanks for stopping by tonight.
    Blessings Always ((HUGS))

  9. You were very missed! Totally understandable that you need some time, adjusting to all that would be hard. Your family will be blessed many times over for what you do! Thank you! :)

    Have a great weekend!

  10. We'll be praying for your family.

  11. We will be praying for you all year long :-) The Joy of the Lord is your Strength..........Chose Joy.

  12. I TOTALLY have missed you, but I did figure you needed some time to adjust. How wonderful you can connect on the computer. I remember when my youngest son spent 3 months in Indonesia one summer on a missionery trip and the only way we had to communicate with him was a very occasional e-mail when he could find a computer. Oh how I loved my computer that summer. I can remember opening my mail and seeing his mail and quickly being in tears. Thank God for that. Your hubby looks great. Your new blog look is perfect and looks soo good. I will continue to pray for you all. WELCOME BACK to blogland. Hugs, Debbie

  13. Love the new blog page. Blogging is a good way to stay busy, keep in touch with friends and family, AND it will help make time go faster surely. Well, maybe. Hope the time flys for you till your husband is back with the family. Meanwhile, you'll be the subject of many prayers.

  14. Ohhh Myyyy....
I wish I could give you a big huge hug!!!!
I know it hurts, try not to give into it... I know that is hard to...

I have been thinking of you often!

    HUGE HUGS!!!
    Just A Gal...

  15. Aw Lois, I am sad for you...it is such a hard situation...but who could be better in that job than your husband, who knows how many lives he will touch and help over there...but I know it is tough for you and yours...

  16. he and all of our military members are always in our prayers as well as their family members...Take care and stay busy..:>)

  17. I wish you and your family the best, I know what you are going through...My husband is on his way to Iraq, he is finishing up some training in Mississippi and he has been gone since Dec.26 too. It never gets easier saying goodbye...but we Army Gals just got to stick together!! I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

  18. Of course we missed you!
Please tell The Colonel thank you for his service. And thank you for being a supportive, loving wife.
I will continue to pray for all of you throughout this year.

  19. Will be praying for your hubby as well as you and your family while he is away!!

  20. Yes, of course you were missed! And of course we understand :) Glad to see you're back. What a great picture of the Colonel to hold in your heart until his return. I hope the time goes swiftly for you! -Tammy

  21. Hi Lois - You have been thought about many times in this corner of the world. I love the new layout for your page. Give the colonel my best when you talk to him and tell him I said "thanks" for serving our country!

  22. Hi Lois,
Blogland has it's sunshine back! I,too know how you feel. When Randy went to Desert Storm he told me not to watch the news, and I didn't...at all. We wrote constantly and trusted God for all the rest. Remember that God is just as much with Philip there as He was here, and He will stay with Him through it all.

May God richly bless you both Lois, and may you feel His presence and abide in His peace all through the Colonel's absence.
Remember also...you can call me anytime!

Praying God's best for you all, sweet friend,

  23. Thinking about you all the time and hoping your new "normal" is okay for you. I am praying for the colonel and you.

  24. We completely understand your break! I've been thinking of all of you.

You're new background is great - praying that this year will seem to pass quickly for you!

  25. So glad you're back! We'll try to keep you company while the Colonel is gone. I love the Army theme!

  26. Glad you are back, but understand that your break was important. I can't imagine how you must miss the colonel and your blog redesign is a fitting tribute to his (and your family's) service to our country.

  27. We will be praying for you and your family. Did miss you!
Have a happy day and God bless.

  28. ((Thinking about you))
Hope that you are keeping busy and able to communicate somewhat with the Colonel so that you don't worry too much about him. I know this is a trying time right now but please know that we are here for you praying for your continued strength.
Much love goes out to you today!

  29. I am SO thankful that you were together for Christmas! Praying for you {and your family} right now friend!
