I've been MIA from my blog for a few days, but there's a reason.
It seems that I have come down with a nasty STAPH infection.
Yes, you heard me right.
What started out as a simple bug bite has turned into something horrible.
Something that has caused me so much pain, I'd rather give birth again.
And you all need to know that Michael was 10 1/2 pounds at birth and the epidural never took.
I noticed last Sunday two bug bites, but didn't really pay too much attention to them until Monday afternoon.
They were really "bugging" me. LOL!
By the time I went to bed Monday evening I knew something wasn't right.
I was in so much pain.
I woke up early Tuesday morning and drove myself to the emergency room.
Thankfully I was in and out in 30 minutes.
The ER doctor said they were just bug bites and put me on an antibiotic.
I repeatedly asked him, "You're sure they're not staph?"
He said, "No, they're just badly infected. They could turn to staph but you'll be on an antibiotic and will be fine."
Well, Tuesday was horrible.
Sick, sick, sick. Fever, headache, awful.
By Wednesday I started feeling much better, however, one bug bite was growing.
In fact it was growing so much I started calling it my "third boob" because it was located under my rib cage.
On Thursday I go to my family doctor and show him my new boob
and he's quite surprised to see it.
He says right away it's staph and proceeds to take out a scalpel
and take the top off of this very painful bug bite.
We find out today if it's MRSA.
Let me tell you this is no fun.
I will try to keep you all updated on the continuing drama going on in my life!

Michael and Olivia leaving for the bus...
Summer went so quick!
They had no problem getting up at 6:00 AM.
I'm sure this will change in a few days. The bus comes at 6:40 AM.
Michael is riding the bus with his sister again.
Junior High and Senior high are on the same bus.
Actually they attend the same school.
Well, the Junior High is in the back of the Senior High.
A little confusing?
How grown up they looked...especially Michael.
Watching him walk down the driveway made me remember when he was three.
He had just finished brushing his hair and was "checking" himself out in the mirror and suddenly said, "The girls are gonna love me."
I try to do something special for them on the first day of school.
I'm going to make their favorite dinner and some brownies.
Then it's off to work for Olivia.
She's working till 11:00 tonight. I really hope it's not too much for her!
Enjoy your Wednesday.

Just quite busy.
Actually my back has been killing me for the past few days...
really slowing me down.
But it's starting to feel better.
We went to the lake yesterday and let me tell you it was HOT.
But don't worry, I sat under the canopy or my own umbrella...
not a beach umbrella, my own rain umbrella.
Yes, I have turned into "THAT" woman.
The one who uses a rain umbrella while sitting on the beach.
My kids make fun of me.
But the beach umbrella doesn't do it.
And guess what happened while I was standing in the lake, while holding my umbrella of course??? I took my cell phone out to see what time it was...
Proceeded to drop my cell phone in the lake.
I am lost without it!
But a friend of mine told me to put it in a bag of uncooked rice and leave it alone for a few days. Hopefully this will work.
Last night was interesting here at Walking on Sunshine.
We're sleeping and around 1:00 ALL THE SMOKE ALARMS IN THE HOUSE GO OFF.
Yes, I said ALL.
This has happened before so I knew there was no fire, but for just a minute, I went a bit crazy.
I think it has something to do if one of the batteries is low.
BUT it's no fun trying to drag a chair over to a smoke alarm at 1:00 in the morning,
and pull the battery out only to remember
they're also hooked up to the electrical system in the house.
So I had to really disconnect one of them.
So back to sleep, right? NO.
At 2:30 AM, they go off AGAIN.
So I unplugged one downstairs and SILENCE!
Why do these things always happen when the Colonel is away?
Enjoy your day!

Hope you all had a great weekend!
It was beautiful here!
The weather on Saturday was great!
Yesterday, not so good.
It was hot, sticky, muggy, rainy.
All the things that make getting pantyhose on difficult!
I cannot believe the amount of rain we have received this summer.
During worship practice last night, the power actually went out!
NOT a good thing when the piano you play on is electric!
But thankfully it was only out for a minute.
The Colonel headed back to Ft. Dix this morning, but he'll be home tonight!
He has two days off this week and he plans on finishing up the potting shed.
Church yesterday was good.
I was so concerned about this new song we did in the morning service.
Some of the new music is still very challenging to me.
AND this was four pages of challenge.
Last night's service was excellent.
Worship was awesome and pastor's sermon was terrific.
I love when the worship flows...people lingering at the altar...just beautiful.
I'm quite tired today.
Was up WAY too early this morning...the Colonel leaves at 4:30
and I couldn't fall back asleep.
So here I sit!
Enjoy your day!
I'm getting ready to see what you all have been up to!
Don't forget about my giveaway!
I'll be announcing the winner on Wednesday!

This is what the Colonel has been working on the past 2 weekends...
Can you guess what it's going to be?
He's making a potting shed...
He said I needed one.
I wasn't too sure.
But after watching him work so hard on this,
I'm beginning to like the idea of having a place to keep all our garden supplies in.
He's going to build a pull down table on this side.
I'll be able to have a place to work on instead of our table on the back porch.
I did make quite a mess there this spring!
He's even taking off a few days next week to finish up on the project.
Thank you Colonel!
Now get back to work!
Don't forget about my giveaway!
You still have time to enter.
Enjoy your Thursday!
