Never Question God's Will...

Growing up in a pastor's home I heard those four words all my life.

All my life.

My father always said them.

Always.

And the older I get, the more they mean to me.

Even while he was lying in the hospital after his fall,
my father told us not to question God's will.

And guess what?

I've learned not to question.

I've learned to accept God's will.

I haven't always wanted to.

It hasn't always been easy.

But one thing I know, God's will is perfect.

God's will is perfect.

My father always said that too.

I believe it.

The Colonel waited all week for his orders to come in.
If it's one thing we've learned, they always wait for the last possible minute to send them.
And the same thing happened on Friday.

His orders came around 1:00 in the afternoon.

One thing they forgot to include...his traveling orders.

After spending quite a bit of time on the phone trying to figure out what to do, it was finally decided to push back his arrival to Ft. Benning, GA to this coming Saturday.

That's right.

He's still here!

We have 5 more days together before he leaves.

I don't know why these things happen.

But one thing I do know...

God's will is perfect.

And I believe that!

Enjoy your day!

I'll be here all week, hopefully!

  4. Oh Good Morning Sunshine,
So happy to hear your Phil is still with you. I was praying my heart out for you last Sat. morning cause I thougt he was leaving then. I remember when I was 15 and my brother went for his 2nd tour to Viet Nam how hard it was for me, and I am sure as a wife
it is much harder. Your Dad was a very wise man, cause it is true the Lord always know what He is doing, sometimes to our eyes it doesn't look like it, but He always always has our best in mind.
In fact, the book you read about on my blog "Lost in the Middle" is about that and more. I am on my
4th reading of it, it is indeed a meaty book, chock a block full of
wise information and scripture about God's workings in our life.
I think the Lord is blessing your sweet attitude and your acceptance of His will for you and your family. Sometimes accepting God's
will is not an easy thing, but thank God for prayer.
I hope you all have just a splendid week, God is just full of
surprises!! He is readying all of you!
    Have a great week Sweetie,
and tell the Col. we so appreciate He and your family and the sacrifices you all make for Him to
serve this great land where we live.
    Blessings, Nellie

  5. One more week with your hubby is a blessing. I love your faith... I wish I had known your father. He must have been a fantastic minister.

You are a tribute to his ministry.

P.S. My hubby has worked away from home off and on for years. He has the hardest part of being away from the family.

  7. What a beautiful surprise to have more time with your hubby.

Guess we can just look quizzical sometimes when God's will seems to confuse us! He does know best and we don't have to always understand, do we?

    blessings and happy hugs,
