Sick, sick, sick...

Michael.

He's sick.
He's been sick since Labor Day.
He came down with a typical upper respiratory infection over Labor Day weekend.

Which then went into bronchitis.

Which left behind a terrible, annoying cough.

He has been on some sort of antibiotic since Labor Day.
We went back to the doctor 2 weeks ago for the same thing...the cough.

The doctor thought maybe it was a slight case of asthma.
So off to a specialist...who runs all these tests and thankfully determines it's not asthma.

Another 2 weeks of antibiotics and guess what?

He comes home sick from school Tuesday.

He tells me 90 kids in his school are out sick.

90 Kids.
It's not that big of a school.

He laid on the couch for the rest of the day and then around 8:00 started throwing up.

I couldn't get an appointment with the doctor yesterday.
They're booked solid.
Something's going around.

REALLY?

I have an appointment for him this morning with the doctor.

If you can, please say a prayer.
I hate to see him sick.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Michael with his Opa.
If my dad was still alive he'd be over here sitting with Michael on the couch
watching TV with him.
 And Michael would love it.

  15. I hope he will be feeling himself soon... This flu or whatever it is that is making our children ill has to go in Jesus Name!!! As a physicians wife I share this... found from Joyce Meyers website..
Exodus 15:26 reads, I the Lord am thy physician. The medicine He prescribes is His Word.

Many make the mistake of substituting belief in healing for the actual taking of God’s medicine – His Word. They say, “I believe in healing” without actually taking the medicine. What good would it do for you to believe in food if you didn’t eat it? You would starve. What good would it do for you to believe in water if you didn’t actually drink any? You would die of thirst.

God’s Word is His medicine. There are several parallels between God’s medicine and natural medicine.

First: God’s Word is a healing agent, just as natural medicine is a healing agent or catalyst. In other words, the medicine itself contains the capacity to produce healing. Inherent within God’s Word is the capacity, the energy, the ability, and the nature to effect healing in your body.

    Hugs!!!

  18. Poor Michael. We had that out here too. Still making the rounds big time. I know of many who are sick. Not everyone waa tested for it but we're pretty sure it was swine. Ands you know it's funny. While everyone had VERY similiar symptoms, fever, cough, stuffy nose, aick to the stomach, (some vomited, others didn't) REALLY tired, for some it was a 5 to 6 day affair, and others it lasted two FULL weeks. (I am still someewhat coughing, though nothing like it was, it has been 3 weeks) My little 5 year old grandson missed 6 days of school and was still coughing and somewhat dragging several days after that. Soo who knows?? Some just get it worse. I will definitely pray for your poor son. He has had it long enough, poor guy. The photo is adorable by the way. Blessings to you, Debbie

  29. No wonder 90 kids are sick since it snowed already. Mother nature is a little mixed up. It is still warm here in Atlanta but it seems everyone around us is sick as a dog:) My SIL who NEVER takes a day off was in bed all day Tuesday and went to work yesterday and found out his boss has the H1 so he ran to the Dr. on his lunch hour but thankfully my SIL only has a bad sinus infection causing his sore throat. I will keep your son in my prayers along with the other kids at his school. I am sure your Dad is watching over him. Oh I loved your apple post. Now go and make some baked apples for when he feels better and a big apple pie for the rest of the family. Keep us posted.

  35. It is so hard when your child (or grandchild in my case) is sick...but especially when this has gone on for so long now. Hang in there, mom, and be blessed in knowing so many prayers are going up to our Father on your little boy's behalf. The photo of your dad with him touched my heart as well...my dad passed away last year and he would have been 86 today. You have a beautiful blog...hoping to get to know you better through it...

  41. I've had the same thing going on since July 30th, I've been on numberous antibiotics and nothing would get rid of the cough and I have asthma so I can relate. The only thing that has given me a little bit of a reprise (I see my dr again on Nov 2) is Tessalon Perles and Symbicort inhaler. At least I am not coughing like I'm on my last lung and smoked all my life - it doesn't stop it completely but does give some relief! I feel for him as I'm still battling the cough!
