Happy Monday!

Monday, July 27, 2009

I hope everyone had a great weekend.
Here at Walking on Sunshine it was FULL.
A little too full, but there was nothing I could do about that.

The Colonel started a "surprise" project for me last weekend
and spent most of Saturday working on it again.
It's not much of a surprise anymore.
I'll post some pictures later this week on what he's working on.

I had worship rehearsal Saturday morning.
I got to church at 9:30 and rehearsal was supposed to start at 10:00, but of course it didn't get started until 10:35.
Yes, I'm being precise in my time!
Because I think if rehearsal starts at 10:00, everyone should be there at 10:00.
I will say no more on that!

I like to get to rehearsal early so I can go over the songs one more time on the church piano, hand out the lists, make a copy of the hymns we're singing.
For some reason they're too small in the hymn book for me now!
I like to "enlarge" them.
I'm getting so old.

I finally got home around 1:00 and fixed lunch for all of us and then put some sauce and meatballs together in the crock pot for our Sunday dinner
while hubby finished working on his project.
Then we FINALLY headed out to do our birthday shopping.

Yes, our birthdays were 2 weeks ago.

We really didn't get each other much because we had this plan to go shopping
and each pick out what we really wanted.
The kids gave us gifts though!
I received some nice shower gel from Michael and Olivia gave me one of those scented sticks.  I've never had them; they smell really nice.
Both the kids each gave the Colonel books.

So off to shopping.
We found these really nice shops a few weeks ago about 40 minutes from our house.
They're outdoor shops, not outlets, with a bunch of restaurants as well.
We walked all around and had a nice dinner but...

Completely forgot to buy something!

Oh well!

Sunday was full with church, piano, home, dinner, practice, church, more piano.
I think you get the picture of my weekend!

I will be posting my giveaway this week, so please make sure you come and enter!

Enjoy your Monday.
I'm off to spend some time with all of my blogging friends!

  1. I am the same way about time. I think if something starts at 10:00 you should be there BEFORE 10:00. Of course things happen and people will be late at times, but it seems the same people are the ones who are late all the time!

  2. Happy Monday to you~too!
I am off and running~have a prosperous day!

  3. You're like me. I hate to be late for anything. Sounds like a busy weekend with a nice evening with hubby thrown in. That's always good.
    Have a great week.

  4. Yes, it drives me crazy (short dirve) too when people show up so late. I like to be there 10 minutes early or more.

So sweet that you got more caught up in your time together than in getting the presents...very sweet!

    blessings and hugs,

  5. Hi, sorry your weekend was so busy. I agree if something is at 10, then 10 it is...Hope your summer is going well. I see the colonel is well again so that is great for you. take care my friend.

  6. Enjoy your Monday! I spent some time with blogging friends this morning too. It has been a long time since I visited everyone!

  7. I agree totally on the time thing. I'm one of those "compulsively early" people. I drive my family nuts. The joke around here is that if we are not an hour early then "Mom" feels like we're half an hour late! I'm really not THAT bad, but we ARE quite often the first ones to arrive anywhere.

  8. Sounds like you had a good time, though, even if you didn't purchase anything. :) I am taking beginner piano lessons at the ripe age of 29, and while I may never be leading the worship band, I am hoping to get to some level of proficiency with God's grace. Never too old to learn something new. :)

    Have a blessed day!

  10. Sounds like a very full weekend. I know, I hate it when people are late. It just messes up the rest of your day sometimes.
Glad you and hubby had a good birthday and a great time together eatin and shoppin.
Can't wait to see the surprise.
    HUGS from Texas.

  11. I know what you mean about people coming late. I'm always the early bird and have taken some nasty comments about it over the years. I have been told that you never come on time and it's proper to be fashionably late. Who knew????? Anyway it sounds like you had a very nice weekend with the family, presents or not! Hugs, Loretta

  12. It does sound like you had a busy weekend. I am a very "timely" person myself. I can not stand to be late...I am always early. Hope you have a great week. Maybe it won't be quite as busy. :-)

  13. I love that you just enjoyed each other's company and dinner out so much that you didn't even think about buying gifts!
    Have a lovely day.
    Hugs, linda
PS Very annoyed about late starts! It's just disrespectful to any of the people who made the effort to arrive on time!

  14. sometimes just going out for dinner and browsing is fun too. And a great way to be together.

Meatballs and sauce sounds really good right now, made my tummy growl:-)

    Have a great day:-)

  15. Happy Monday to you! Sounds like a full, but happy weekend. I like the idea of birthday shopping for each other. Have a great day!

  16. I agree with you on starting times. I try always to be early for everything, so if something starts late, I have usually been waiting and waiting.

I am looking forward to seeing the surprise project.

  17. That was a very busy weekend. Happy to hear you had time to spend with the Colonel!

  18. Your birthday gifts were just to spend some time together:) Once again happy birthday:)

  19. I agree with you that it should be on time. I hate being late as it puts my whole day in a turmoil.
Can't wait to see the surprise.
Glad that you had such a wonderful time for your birthdays.
    God Bless

  20. Hi Walking on Sunshine, Happy Monday and everyday! It's always so nice to see you everyday over at my blog, thank you!
I have surgery tomorrow for my kidneys so I may not be able to talk to you for a few days or so, just to let you know that You're in my thoughts and prayers.

  21. Good evening, I'm the same as you in that I like to be on time. In fact I am usually fifteen minutes early. I don't think I have ever been late for anything. It sounds like you had a busy weekend. I like your idea of putting the meatballs in the crock pot. I am going to try that.

  22. Oh I forgot to say happy birthday to the two of you ♥
