Phil is still in the hospital.
He had surgery Friday morning to remove the infected tissue in his

 OTHER LEG.

Yes, this infection has now spread.

I came down Saturday with my mom, thanks mom, and Michael to be with him.
It's a long story how my mother got home, but she's home now and Michael and I will be here for a few days.  We're staying in a hotel near the hospital.
Olivia is home and my mom will watch over her.

The infection is a staph infection and he is on IV antibiotics.
He's going to have a PIC IV placed probably tomorrow and
a wound vac placed over the area that he had surgery.

He'll be in the hospital for a few more days and then home with a nurse coming every day to administer the antibiotics through the PIC IV.

Not sure how long he'll be out of work.
But he will probably be attached to the wound vac for two weeks.

Please keep us in your prayers, especially Phil.

Thank You!

  16. So glad they went with the wound vac machine...that should take care of it. They should have consulted Dr. Marcy first as I would have done it and solved it right away (after wriggling my nose three times and sprinkling some fairy dust of course...:0))

My late hubby was the same way...each time he was wounded he was ready to get up and at 'em the next day (these guys are why they created hospital restraints!)

    blessings and prayers,

    marcy
