Please Pray...

Friday, June 19, 2009

I know I've been absent from blogging this week.

Life has been a bit busy here at Walking on Sunshine.
I've been working on the farewell banquet for our pastor next Sunday.
However, the Colonel called this afternoon to tell me that the infection in his knee is BACK. He went to the doctor down at Ft. Dix this afternoon and they took one look at it and sent him to the emergency room at the local hospital.

They admitted him last night.
The infection is back. He's hooked up to an IV.

He's 3 hours away.

He thinks they will release him today.
If not, I need to figure out how to get to this hospital.
So please pray that they will release him to come home TODAY.
More importantly, please pray that the infection will finally disappear!
Thank you!

  25. Lois' husband checking in.
Bottom Line Up Front: I'm fine.
Other details: Yes, I have a wireless connection from my hospital bed here at the hospital. I love living in the 21st century.
Thank you for all for your kind thoughts and prayers. Lois' first instinct was to drive 3 hours to my bedside, but I insisted that she stay in PA. This wasn't like I was having some kind of cardiac issue - LOL.
A couple of my fellow officers and my immediate boss' spouse called her to ensure that everything was alright. As it is, I've gotten way too many visitors, though I appreciate the smuggled contraband (Reeses Giant Cups and Diet Pepsi - thanks, fellas)
Anywhoo - as most of you women know there are two types of male patients - "the baby" and the guy who says "let me up," as soon as the proceedure is over. Guess which I am.
I'm looking forward to going home tomorrow - the worst part, and I'm really dreading this - will be all the attention I'm in for at church on Sunday. Oy.
