A Little Bragging...

Thursday, February 19, 2009

If you don't mind...my son Michael took his green belt test Monday evening. On the way to class I was reminding him not to be upset if he didn't pass...silly Mom!!!

He broke that board on the first try. Isn't that a great shot?

He also had to break a board with his hand. I never thought he could do this, but he did! And also on his first try. He broke both boards so quickly and made it look very easy.

Here he is with his instructor.

The Colonel working before the testing began. So glad he was home to see Michael.

On Sunday, he receive a trophy for participating in the Word Reader Club at church. Here he is with his teacher. Every year she gives the kids a chapter a week to read and they have to write a summary on the chapter and answer questions. This is Michael's third year doing every reading assignment. Quite a few kids participate but only three this year completed every assignment.
Michael turned 12 yesterday and he is turning into such a great kid! Both he and Olivia are very responsible and help out quite a bit at home and always manage to make me laugh DAILY. They truly are the greatest gifts I have ever received!

  1. Congratulations to Michael and Happy Birthday!! What a week for a guy:)- and a new cell phone-- Michael must be on cloud 9!--and Mom and Dad too!

I bet it's hard to believe he's 12 already. Each year seems to go faster somehow.

    Have a blessed day!

  2. It is wonderful what children bring to our life...
Now that I am a Grannie too... it is unbelievable how they grow up and suddenly understand their parents... LOL... we weren't as crazy at time as they had thought.

    Enjoy your day!

  5. Aaawww...what a proud Mom you are!! I would be , too!! Sounds like a fine young man you have there!! Well you know what they say, "the fruit doesn't fall too far from the tree"!! :o)

Tell him one of your blogging buddies says congratulations!! Since we don't have any sons, we just adopt them. Not literally, though.

I do get cards from one of them on Mother's day, and he brought some pie on Valentine's. Too much fun!!

    Have a joyful day, Lois!!
    Blessings,
    Becky

You just keep bragging, it seems to me that Michael and Olivia have two great teachers at home!!! What a wonderful way to teach young people how to study the Word of God. And again I would like to wish Michael a very Happy Birthday, and congratulations to him!!!!
