Update from yesterday...Olivia passed her permit test! I actually let her drive a little bit around our neighborhood yesterday. Was quite enlightening to see my little girl who really is afraid of NOTHING show some fear. We will be spending quite some time just driving around our neighborhood before we venture out on to a main road!

She completed the test in under ten minutes! And only had one question wrong. I think she did very good.

I have one complaint...the lady at the DMV was quite rude. It's been awhile since I've actually dealt with someone THIS rude! AND, you cannot pay in cash or use a debit card. It had to be payment by check or money order. And I do not carry my checkbook with me.

So I proceeded back up to the counter to the very RUDE employee and asked her about payment and she said, "Go get a money order." She also informed me that if I don't pay today Olivia's test would be void and she would have to take it AGAIN. Well, I have NEVER IN MY LIFE purchased a money order, nor have I ever had a NEED TO PURCHASE a money order either! She said I can go down across the highway to the gas station and get one. Who knew???

So, off we went to buy a money order and all is well. Oh, except for the fight between the manager and someone who couldn't get his license. I actually started looking around for cameras to see if maybe we were on a reality TV show or something. My afternoon at the DMV was very interesting!

Today's verse is a great one for Olivia...
Psalms 91:11 "For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways."

There is an enclosure around every child of God. It is a defense, fence, or wall of protection. It cannot be broken down by men or devils. It is built and sustained by God's almighty power. It is so thick a hedge and so strong a fence that no adversary could possibly break through it at any time - unless God permits.

And something to make you all laugh about this "Hedge of Protection." ENJOY!

  1. wow, remember when WE went to get our driver's license's at the DMV in Jamaica, Queens??? Remember how MEAN that woman was to US??? Remember how poor James Hatch had to come to Jamaica and bring us proof of residents????? Remember how we laughed at that woman, because she was so fat and mean??? That day was fun! Glad everything worked out for you and Olivia...I will especially be careful when turning my car into your community, and being on the lookout for Olivia practicing her driving skills.......

  2. I am so sorry someone who is so sweet had to deal with someone so rude!! It's so sad that people actually live being so unhappy that it spills out onto everyone around them. I prayed for her.

Now onto the "hedge"! I'm with this guy...I want concrete walls around me that are about 50 feet wide and 500 feet tall!! Too funny! Thanks for the laughs, Lois! And the inspiration!
May your day be filled with JOY!
