Honorable, Wise, Kind, Busy and Praiseworthy...

Today’s pearls are found in verses 25, 26, 27 and 28…Honorable, Wise and Kind, Busy and Praiseworthy.

"Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.”

Honorable…we aren’t wrapped up in the externals of life, but in dignity and strength. There is nothing shallow about our faith. It is genuine, sincere and it dominates our thinking, our living and our witness to others around us.

"She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.”

Wise and Kind…this is a goal I know I strive for every day. To be able to open my mouth with only wisdom and kindness! How many times have we yelled at our children only to answer the phone in a sweet voice to strangers? I know I have!

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.”

Busy…we don’t sit around watching TV all day. We’re constantly doing something, making sure our homes are in order, the laundry is not overflowing and there is food on the table.

“Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.”

Praiseworthy…what a benefit to being a virtuous woman when our husbands look at us and smile! You know they’re telling us how much they love and appreciate all we do for the family. When our children tell other people how we’ve helped them, they’re telling others of their love for us!

What wonderful pearls these are to strive for! Tomorrow’s pearls are Attains, Fear of the Lord and Fruit Bearing. We’re almost to the end, come back to find out how we can get our necklaces full with pearls!

  1. Great post!
Another thing that distracts from the family- computer time! A terrible time stealer! I need to learn to "walk away" - maybe set the timer to keep my priorities straight.

Thank you for your wonderful words of wisdom today!
    Blessings to you,
    Kymber

  2. I pray everyday that kind words come out of my mouth. Sometimes this is not the case. I know you have heard the story about the family that fights all the way to church on Sunday morning and then when they get out of the car they are all smiles and nice words. Kinda like your phone story...I have done both but am striving for kind words for everyone. Thank you!

  3. This is just all so good. God is working on my time mgt. and I'm learning how to effectively multi-task.

My Heart of the Home post on Tuesday will coincide with some of these points.

Thanks again for taking the time to put this together, Lois!
    Blessings,

  5. I have read books on the Proverbs 31 woman , but your teaching of this scripture has been one of the best that I have had. Thank you for these pearls I am looking forward to making my necklace and of being able to wear it.
    Blessings,

  6. Such a great post. It is so easy to have our lives sucked away by things which hold us back from being truly productive in a way which honours the kind of women we would strive to be. Blessings, and once again thanks, to you for what you are posting here.

  7. I agree with Kymber, I was convicted this weekend that the computer can be a big "time stealer" for me. You might be seeing and hearing a little less from me, but that's a good thing! As always, thanks!

  9. To be able to open my mouth with only wisdom and kindness! How many times have we yelled at our children only to answer the phone in a sweet voice to strangers? Amen amen amen. My youngest son has started using the saying I have say to the daycare children when I’m talking harshly to him, ‘have a loving heart mom, just like you tell the daycare children’…oh my, out of the mouth of babes!! I also tell my myself when my husband has said something and my flesh wants to prove I’m ‘right’,,’be quiet, be quiet’. I’m learning it doesn’t matter who is right or wrong, especially in such little piddle things. I keep remidning myself again, ‘will this matter when I’m in Heaven, is it that big of a deal’.

Busy…we don’t sit around watching TV all day. We’re constantly doing something, making sure our homes are in order, the laundry is not overflowing and there is food on the table. Amen amen amen. God has REALLY answered my cry in this department. People love Fridays, I loved Mondays. Once Friday hit, I found I did NOTHING all weekend but the bare basics, than lay around in bed. I HATED it, cryed out to God to help me. The spirit of laziness and procrastination is just YUCK. Praise God He is greater!!
