A Checklist...

My blogging buddy Sara is joining me in my "revolution" for our husbands. She had a great post today regarding this subject and I asked her if I could post a checklist she received from a Titus 2 Woman's Group. She keeps the checklist in her Bible and refers to it daily as a reminder of how to treat her husband.

I think the list is great and I'm going to print it out...maybe even make it into a bookmark...and put it in my Bible and check it daily as I do my devotions. I think it might even be a good idea to have one posted where our children can see it as well!

Below is the list and if you haven't visited Sara's blog, please do so! She has a great list of books also on the same subject that just might help us all out.

Obedience Checklist

Do I remember his requests?
Do I make excuses?
Am I seeking to be reverent?
Am I seeking to be helpful?
Do I forget him?
Do I seek to do him good and not evil all of his days?
Do I seek to love him?
Do I seek to bear all things with him?
Do I seek to be hopeful toward him?
Do I treat him as the lord of my home and life?
Am I trustworthy?
Do I withhold myself from him?
Do I roll my eyes at him?
Do I seek to affirm him?
Do I badmouth him anywhere?
Do I murmur in my heart against him?
Do I complain about him to others?
Do I mock him?
Do I listen to him or do I tune him out?
Do I prefer him? Does he know it?
Do I pray for him?
Am I helping him or hindering him?

And finally, here's a verse that goes along with our revolution. I love it in the King James.
Titus 2:5 "To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed."

If you want to join, leave a comment and post the list on your blog!

  1. I love this checklist (and need to work on some of them too) and already have it printed out and in my Bible. I think this topic definitely needs to be addressed more.

  2. Hi,
Thanks for stopping by to say hi. it is nice to meet you! Thanks for the sweet comments on the alphabet book I am making for my grandbaby. I am having so much fun making this sweet little gift for her. I LOVE your blog! I look forward to getting caught up - as I love to read from the beginning so I can get to know a person better. I love the checklist you made and your post about honoring our husbands and giving them first place in our lives. I agree whoelheartedly about this. I love the book by Martha Peace - "The Excellent Wife".

It truly is the order in which God calls us to live our lives.
When we are obedient to this calling, our husbands rise to the occasion and God is glorified through our obedience. I look forward to reading more and participating in these discussions. It is so encouraging to meet more women who feel this same calling in their lives!

    Blessings on your day today,

  3. These are great reminders of how to act toward our husbands as well as others. Thanks for the list.

  4. I am going to print this list out and put it in my bible. I am not married, however I have been dating my boyfriend for 6 years. This is a wonderful list for wives and anyone in a serious relationship! Thank you for posting this!

  5. Never to old to learn and refresh. Phil and I will be married 45 yrs. this coming April. I thank the Lord for my wonderful husband. Thanks Lois....I'm printing out the list also. Have a great day!

  6. Wow Lois, you started something GOOD! Thank you for getting the ball rolling --I'm excited to be part of it.

I'm going to check out the Nancy Leigh DeMoss book you suggested, I like her works and am excited to hear what she has to say. I love the bookmark idea...think I might have to copy that one!

    Have a great weekend
