God’s will for every Christian wife
is that her most important ministry
be to her husband. (Genesis 2:18)

After a wife’s own personal relationship
with the Lord Jesus Christ,
nothing else should have greater priority.

Her husband should be the primary benefactor
of his wife’s time and energy,
not the recipient of what may be left over
at the end of the day.

Whether her husband is a faithful Christian man
or an unbeliever,
God wants every Christian woman
to be a godly wife -- an excellent wife.

~ Martha Peace ~

I want my husband to be my most important ministry. Not what I do in church, not my job, and (GASP) not my children. My husband is my precious gift and how I handle that gift reflects on the attitude of this household.

So this will be my goal for the year. To truly put my husband in the place God intended all husbands to the head of our household. I think I already do this, but I want to make a more conscious effort this year. I'm tired of husbands and fathers being portrayed as idiots in the media.

My husband works very hard for this family, not to mention our country. He deserves to be treated with respect first and foremost from me! Anyone else care to join me? If so, please copy and paste the above quote onto your blog and let's start a revolution. Leave me a comment so I can come and check out your quote!

  1. I completely agree with this! Divorce rates would not be as high as they are if husbands and wives would treasure each other and remember the gift they are in each other's lives. It's easy to get caught up when you have kids, a home, and all that goes along with it, but if every husband and wife could take a minute to tell each other how much they love and mean to each other I think most marriages would be better!

  2. This is an awesome post!! God put this on my heart 3 1/2 years ago. I have applied this truth consistently and it has impacted not only our relationship, but all the relationships in my family, and has helped keep one of my friends from considering divorce!!
I'm for it 100%!! I'll post it this week sometime.

    Thanks Lois!
    Blessings, Becky

  3. I am with you and have been thinking alot about this myself. I'm posting the quote on my blog today. Thanks Lois!!

  4. What a beautiful quote and post! ;)
It's so true that a husband should be a wife's first priority in life after her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Upon reading "Feminine Appeal" by Carolyn Mahaney this truth dawned upon me even more...she had a great way of explaining this. I believe if children see their parents devoted to each another, it does indeed create a peaceful, restful home. Since I am still in my parents home, I can indeed attest to this! Thanks so much for the lovely post.

  5. Great post. This would be a better world if every wife had this attitude. Unfortunately I think it is pretty rare in our culture.

  6. I have added this to my to do list this year. Thank you for the challenge.
