Today I am showing something my son Michael made for me last year at the boy's program at our church. It's a log with room for three candles surrounded by garland, Michael drilled the holes, the candles are a bit crooked, but that's okay...I just love it. Last year I had it as the centerpiece on our kitchen table but this year I'm trying it on the hutch in our kitchen.
When all the boys were bringing their logs into the church to give to their mom's (Royal Rangers meets in a building across the parking lot from church), I noticed all the other boy's logs had Christmas balls hot glued on to the garland and candy canes, etc. I was thinking to myself, "I'm so glad Michael just did the garland."
Well, the guy in charge of the program came and told me that he kept telling Michael to add more stuff to his log, "Your mom will like it." He told me that Michael was very adamant about just doing the garland. I asked Michael about this later and he said, "I knew you would only like the garland and not all the glitzy stuff." Does this boy know me?
I do treasure all the things Olivia and Michael have made me for Christmas and our tree is mostly filled with them! To me this is what Christmas is all about, making something for someone you love. Enjoy your day!
